September 2026

11&12

Friday and Saturday 12 am to 12 am

Sidewalk Days

Every shop on the three streets brings its racks and bins out onto the sidewalk and marks things down. It runs whatever the weather does.

What’s happening

Friday and Saturday September 11 to September 12, 2026, 12 am to 12 am, John, Elgin and Madawaska

2 weeks away. Friday September 11, 12 am.

Every shop on the three streets brings its racks and bins out onto the sidewalk and marks things down. It runs whatever the weather does.

It started as a way to clear summer stock before the fall order came in, and it turned into the weekend the town shows up for. The sidewalks get tight and the good stuff is gone by Saturday afternoon.

John Street North stays open to cars both days, so mind the traffic when you step off the curb. Elgin between John and the lot is closed from nine on Saturday for the barbecue.

Does it run in the rain?

Yes. Some tables move under awnings and a few shops bring the sale inside, but nobody cancels.

Is there anything for kids?

The pipe band on Saturday, the bargain bins that come out along the sidewalk, and the fire truck usually parks on Elgin for an hour so kids can sit in it.
